Life under the glacier

The Danish/Icelandic team Kvorning Design, Yoke, and Verkstæðið has won the competition for a new, permanent exhibition at the Snæfellsjökull National Park Center in Iceland. The two-phase design competition saw three pre-qualifying teams submitting final bids for the design, production, and installation of the permanent exhibition.

A guided tour, narrated by the legendary figure Bárður Snæfellsás—half human, half troll—delves into the worlds of humanity, nature, and mystery surrounding Snæfellsjökull glacier. The concept has been carefully designed to engage local, national, and international visitors alike.

Iceland Design and Architecture provided consulting services for the competition, while Ríkiskaup was responsible for implementation.

The exhibition is set to open in the summer of 2024.
