‘Our World Heritage’ inaugurated

Our World Heritage, a new, interactive exhibition showcasing World Heritage, developed for World Heritage Norway, was inaugurated at the Vega World Heritage Center in Nordland, Norway, on April 24th, 2023.

Norway’s Minister of Climate and the Environment, Espen Barth Eide (Ap), presided over the inauguration. Among the speakers were Director of Norway’s Directorate for Cultural Heritage Hanna Geiran, Director of World Heritage Norway Liv Astrid Sverdrup, and Manager and World Heritage Coordinator for the Vega World Heritage Center Rita Johansen.

Off the Helgeland coast, the tradition of collecting down from eider ducks, which nest here every spring, is maintained.

Our World Heritage introduces visitors to Norway’s eight World Heritage sites and is also an introduction to the world’s most important natural and cultural areas.

Kvorning Design is responsible for the exhibition’s concept and design, developed in collaboration with Creative Technology (Norway) and Gagarin (Iceland).

Our World Heritage will also open at the World Heritage Rock Art Centre – Alta Museum, and the Norwegian Fjord Centre in Geiranger in 2023.

UNESCO’s 1972 World Heritage Convention protects natural and cultural heritage sites indispensable to the global community.
