KVORNING was responsible for the signage program at Benetton Group’s headquarters at Villa Minelli – a 17th-century complex in Ponzano Veneto near Treviso in Northern Italy. The signage project was inspired from a KVORNING project at the Venice International Architecture Biennale, where KVORNING designed the Danish Pavilion.
Representatives from Benetton visited the Danish Pavilion and were attracted by what they saw. They got in touch a few weeks later – and a new project was agreed upon: a complete signage program for the company’s headquarters.
The signs were milled from large blocks using a CNC milling machine. At the time, CNC milling technology and processes were relatively new, and it was a clear part of the design that this technology should be used, giving the signage system and individual letters an iconic design quality.
