CLIENT: THE ROYAL DANISH COLLECTION, ROSENBORG CASTLE
PROJECT: DENMARK-DRESDEN TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
TYPOLOGY: TREASURIES AND COLLECTIONS
LOCATION: COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
KVORNING has developed, produced, and implemented several permanent and temporary exhibitions at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen, Denmark. The temporary exhibition Denmark–Dresden was installed in the impressive Great Hall at Rosenborg Castle, conceived as a Chinese
lacquer shrine within the 17th-century hall—black on the outside and red on the inside—bringing together German and Danish collections in a unified presentation. At the same time, a part of the exhibition was shown in one of the smaller buildings of the castle.
The project was later realised at Grünes Gewölbe in Dresden—part of the Dresden Royal Palace (Residenzschloss) and one of Europe’s most renowned treasure museums, housing an exceptional collection of royal jewels, goldsmithing, and decorative arts.
