Horsens Prison Museum – Lorentzen’s Tunnel

CLIENT: HORSENS PRISON MUSEUM
PROJECT: PERMANENT EXHIBITION
LOCATION: HORSENS, DENMARK
Horsens Prison Museum, Museum of Horsens and Kvorning launched the permanent exhibition, Lorentzen’s tunnel, telling the tale of inmate Carl August Lorentzen’s escape from the Danish state penitentiary in Horsens, Denmark, in 1949.
Through interactive, analogue and digital means, Kvorning’s design depicts his breakout from the prison – a projection of the wall of the tunnel shows Lorentzen digging his way out using only chisels, counterfeit keys and enormous will power.
Experience the prison department, the cell and the re-constructed 18-metre getaway tunnel which Lorentzen worked on for 11 months.
