Royal visit at Kvorning exhibition

The other day HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark visited the exhibitions at the Maritimt Kulturcenter Mariagerfjord at Hobro Harbour.

Hobro Shipyard, the oldest working shipyard for wooden vessels in Denmark, provides an authentic setting for the dissemination of the maritime cultural heritage of Denmark and the shipbuilding traditions of the area which date back to the age of Harald Bluetooth.

Kvorning Design & Communication has designed the exhibition and produced dissemination materials – indoors and outdoors – signage, lighting and more. The beautiful building sitting on the shoreline of Mariager Fjord was designed by E+N Arkitektur, Århus. The exhibition, consecrated on the Danish constitution day 2016, was produced in close collaboration with the enthusiastic volunteers of Hobro shipyard.

Harteværket Visitorcentre open to the public

Once Denmark’s biggest hydropower plant, now a cultural heritage and family attraction, Harteværket Visitorcentre, Kolding, was opened by Danish minister of energy, utilities and climate Lars Chr. Lilleholt.

Kvorning Design & Communication has provided the exhibition concept, design manuals, signage and dissemination concept. Both concepts and materials have been developed in close collaboration with the staff and management at Harteværket, as well as NIRAS and Baumann Boe-Whitehorn Arkitekter.

Still producing electricity, Harteværket is indeed an authentic setting. In the magnificent old turbine hall and the fascinating basement with its huge, red pipes, both grownups and kids can observe how water is turned into electricity. The centre also features a water playground which lets the little ones play and explore the subject on their own terms.

Another digital publication for Museum Insider, London is born. For some years now Kvorning Design & Communication have designed several publications for Museum Insider as well as their website. Most recently LOOKING AHEAD, which gives a fascinating insight into what is happening at British and Irish museums the next years. New amazing projects to be funded and realized.
