Kvorning nets exhibition assignment at Køge Museum

When Køge Museum reopens in 2015 after major renovations, it will be as an innovative attraction and a museum of the future communicating the history of Køge aided by the most novel and fascinating technologies.

In competition Kvorning Design & Communication recently netted the title ‘exhibition entrepreneur’ and will therefore be working on two fresh exhibitions to be featured in the adoring 17th century renaissance building of Køge Museum for Museum South East Denmark. The assignment encompasses a permanent exhibition outlining the history of the city as well as a special exhibition about the battle of Køge Bay and the warship Danneborge. Besides final details, production and assembly of the exhibitions, that make up 1,000 m2 all together, visual identity and profiling, signage, interfaces for interactive guides, screens, mounting of artefacts are included in the total enterprise and museum collaboration.

The Nordea foundation will contribute with 10.2 million DKK to the project. Along with an increased number of visitors, the new exhibitions will form the basis of a pioneering business model for Køge Museum, which hopefully will become valuable for other Danish museums as well.
